About the Role

This is mostly a back end developer role where you will be working on our serverless data and integration platform. You will engage with our internal and external stakeholders determining application and component requirements to ensure that solutions and software applications are both fit for purpose and fit for use. You will also coordinate with senior developers, managers and systems owners to ensure testing, training and rollout of solutions are implemented.

You will work in a small team of developers and not be afraid to try new tools and techniques to get better outcomes for the people Life Without Barriers supports.

This is a permanent full time role which can be based anywhere in Australia, this role can be based in one of our offices or working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Share technical responsibility for all stages of the software development
  • Undertake analysis and development of applications
  • Work closely with analyst and business stakeholders in determination of application requirements
  • Assist in development of appropriate design documentation for stakeholder sign-off
  • Manage unit testing and integration testing
  • Coordinate the production release process with assistance from devops and Infrastructure and Operations team members
  • Rectify production issues in a timely manner in accordance with system SLAs.
  • Implement appropriate monitoring, logging and reporting mechanisms in order to proactively identify production issues.
  • Develop system documentation ensuring all team members can support all production systems
  • Liaise with administrators and system and application analysts to assist in resolving problems with software products or systems.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor degree in a computer science or similar
  • Working knowledge of at least one modern programming language – C#, Golang, Python, Node.js
  • Experience with serverless development in AWS or other cloud provider highly regarded
  • Experience with agile development methodology
  • Working knowledge of devops practices
  • Strong database expertise, including at least one of MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB.
  • You’re resilient in ambiguous situations and can approach challenges from multiple perspectives
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills
